Practical Tips for Small Kitchen Design
A small kitchen can be of various sizes in different areas. A standard small kitchen measures 100 square feet and below. However, the floor plan of the kitchen area also determine if the kitchen can be considered a small kitchen. For example, a narrow kitchen layout more than 100 square feet and also be a small kitchen due to the limited space constraints. There are some practical tips for a small kitchen design plan so that it can be functional with a beautiful design.
The first tip is to concentrate on the working area of the kitchen. Keep the functionality of the kitchen with a good work triangle. A work triangle is the core of every small kitchen design. It helps the kitchen to maintain its cooking area with a triangular working space within the storage area, cooking area and the washing area, which are the common places where we place our refrigerator, cook tops and sinks respectively. You should come out with the work triangle before complementing it with different design elements to make your kitchen more attractive and beautiful.
The second tip is to open your kitchen. What I mean is to adopt a open concept, and link your kitchen to your living and dining area. This can reduce the impression of a visually cramped and narrow kitchen. Replace your kitchen walls with glass panels to induce a transparent effect, and make the kitchen and the living area seem like a coherent living space. In this way, people will no longer relate your kitchen as a stand alone functional room in your home, but as a large living area.
The third tip is to use the right lighting. Try not to use dim lighting in your kitchen as it will only make your kitchen seem smaller. Use bright lighting to make your kitchen look brighter and bigger as light is always associated with space.
