Having recently been shopping for some new bedding supplies as we re-fit our bedrooms, we were a bit baffled by the huge array of brand names out there and didn’t really know where to start. In the end we took a friend’s advice and chose a brand and started checking some reviews online. These Englander mattress reviews proved to be quite eye opening, but not necessarily for the right reasons.

Here are a couple of things people need to know if they are looking at mattress reviews in the hope that they will guide them to making the right choice. Firstly, they may not be written by independent sources and may be deliberately “spun” to present either a positive or negative angle depending on the stance required by the marketers. Secondly, comments posted by “customers” in forums may not be real customers. People get paid to post forum comments. This is why many people question the whole charade of buying on the Internet.

Having said that, you can pick up great information from truly independent sites with quality reviews, which look at real and verifiable anecdotal information as well as lab tests on the mattresses to check the manufacturers’ claims. So there is a balance with these reviews.
Don’t forget that you can often pick up cheap mattresses online at the sites that specialize in discounted bedding. You will save more money doing it this way, but the only real way to know whether a mattress is going to suit you is to discard the “virtual” and “get real”.

What I mean is that reading the reviews and home pages of manufacturers is all well and good, but you shouldn’t buy a mattress without lying down on it in your local bedding center first. You can also test other ones to make comparisons.
