Installing A Kitchen Sink Drain
Are you looking forward to learning how to plumb a kitchen sink? Then, listen closely to what I will be discussing in this article about installing a kitchen sink drain. This task does not require any special skill or knowledge. As long as you know the steps needed to do this, you will be able to do it without too much difficulty.
Now, if you encounter any difficulties during the process, you can try to consult an emergency plumber. Before you start your installation, you should turn off the water first. Then, place in a towel on the surface under the U-shaped pipe of your old sink along with a bucket so that you can collect water spills when you detach the old pipe. You can now remove the screw or nut the attached the sink basket so that you can remove it. Then, remove the old drain pipe as well with the help of a pipe wrench so that you can loosen the nut. Make sure to turn the U with the wrong side up so that you can drain excess waters. Unscrew the pipe that comes through the back of the sink.
Next, clean the surrounding area of the sink basket that was removed awhile ago so that you can remove debris and prevent the new sink basket from having leaks once it’s installed. After this, you can now move on to installing the sink basket from under the sink. Be sure to place in the rubber washer first then a cardboard washer afterwards. Then, add the nut and tighten it. Make sure that you sink basket is centered well so that you can avoid leaks.
Lastly, you need to install the drain pipe kit. Follow the instructions included in the drain pipe kit so you will know how to put each piece together. Once again, make sure that all of the connections are secure so you won’t have leaks later on.
