Understanding the Computer Mouse
Computers were not made to make use of computer mice when these were first developed. You need to do everything manually or with the click on your keyboard. But people had problems on managing their computer functions with only their keyboards to manipulate what they want to do. It took them a long time to go from one side of the computer monitor screen to the other. Then an inventor thought of doing something about this problem; why not add a feature that would allow the user to go from one side to the other, load another document and many other functions? The concept of computer mouse was then materialized.
The computer mouse like the Logitech RX300 was termed as such because the cable looks like a tail of a mouse which is attached to the device which also resembles the body of a mouse. The first computer mice were not what they look now. These were big, bulky and heavy, with only one button to click on. To be able to move the cursor with the use of a mouse, there were mouse balls which were attached at the bottom of the mouse which were in turn, attached to sensors connected to the computer so that the computer would follow which part of the screen you want to go or which icons you want to click on.
But later developments allowed more functions for these silent mice. Now, there are at least three buttons that you can click. The left button for opening or clicking on icons; the right button to show specific functions on specific softwares; and the center scroller, which allow you to scroll up and down the screen or resize the window of your chosen software. Most computer mice now also make use of laser sensors to make scrolling easier. This is so because the usage of balls would be inconvenient in the long run because you would have to clean these once in a while to prevent dirt accumulation which would slow down the movement of your cursor.
The invention of the computer mouse like the Logitech MX300 opened many opportunities in the computer age. The chance of errors was cut down massively; many people wanted to have their own computers because of the user-friendly feature; many people had the opportunity to be able to compete in these fast changing world. With a computer mouse connected with your computer, you are connected with the world with just a click.
