The novella has been written by Stephanie Meyer, who is the creator of the Twilight Saga. The main character of the novella is Bree Tanner herself, who is also the narrator of the book. In other novels of the Twilight Saga, it is Bella Swan who narrates the stories. However, as the novella is based off of the novel Eclipse, in which Bree is featured as a few months old infant, the novella is Bree’s story. In short, the novella describes Bree’s short second life and her ultimate demise.
As per the plot of the novella, Bree is turned into a newborn vampire by Victoria, who is partnered with Riley. Riley is responsible to find children or young adults and take them to Victoria, who turns them into vampires. Bree meets up with Diego, who has also been turned into a newborn vampire. Meanwhile, Diego gets killed, as implied in the novella, by Riley and Victoria for disobeying them. Bree meets up with Edward, one of the main characters in Twilight Saga, and he plays a supporting role in the demise of Bree at the end of the novella.
