The stage: If you are a beginner it is best to get either a wide or a thick surfboard. The wide surfboard is easy to maintain balance on and the thick one is easy to float on and paddle. If you are a pro in surfing then any surfboard can work for you especially the ultra-thin and light surfboard.
The fin and the leash: Check for the fin, and the leash that needs to be attached to the surfer’s foot. The fin on the lower part of the surfboard, allows for better sense of direction. Similarly the leash should be made of strong synthetic material which will hold your feet while surfing.
The design and color: You will find various colored surfboards, so choose the one that you like. There are varieties of designs imprinted on the surfboard.
