Ready Made Curtains Can Save You A Bundle

If you are looking for new curtains for a number of your rooms, you should take the time to look at ready made curtains.  You can find very acceptable curtains for many applications, and you can even find some “custom like” eyelet curtains if you look in the right stores.  You can save yourself a lot of money by shopping around and buying pre made curtains.  Here are some of my tips to make this happen:

1. Know what you are looking to cover — If you are looking to cover the windows in your study or a spare bedroom, this is very different than getting new window treatments for you family room or great room.  You can shave some costs off of the curtains in your less traveled and lower use rooms.  There is nothing wrong with this, as it is just using your available funds in the best way possible.

2.  Know what your budget is —  If you only have so much money to cover three windows, you should not spend all of it on one window treatment.  This may make you happy in that room, but will leave you with two rooms that have no curtains.  If you can be realistic about your budget, you will pretty quickly be able to figure out what you can afford per curtain.

3.  Know what your quality standards are —  You should never buy “junk” just to get something up.  You can hang sheets over your windows on a temporary basis, so don’t buy something that you will eventually use as dusting rags.  This will just frustrate you and waste your limited decorating money.  Keep to your standards, and you will be able to make progress on a room by room basis.

You can save a bundle on your window treatments by buying ready made curtains.  You need to make sure you are happy with what you are buying, and you will get a lot done for a limited amount of money.
