It’s A Baby!
The news you are going to have a baby can be the most shocking and exciting moment in your life. It’s a huge achievement and adjustment in the life of parents and has been a notably admired moment in many classic movies. Take It’s a Wonderful Life, for example. When Bailey finds out Mary is pregnant, one of the first things out of his mouth is, “is it a boy or girl?†To which Mary replies, “uh-huh?†Obviously she has no idea whether it’s a boy or girl, but people get so excited and scared in that one moment, they say incredibly funny things sometimes.
During that time frame, ultrasounds were nonexistent and it was normal to have to wait until the baby was actually born to find out whether it was a boy or girl. However, there are many different indicators and methods used as a baby gender predictor test that are fun to use as substitutes. Granted, you probably don’t want to make any permanent plans based off of these methods since they are dismissed by the scientific community, but if you want to have a little fun guessing while you’re waiting for your bundle, they can provide good entertainment.
There are some people who say there are genders: men, women and pregnant. Though this may seem a bit extreme there are some characteristics that show predominantly in pregnant women. Cravings are high on the list. Whether you are pacing at home wishing you had spicy chicken from a certain restaurant or the spouse traveling to that restaurant in the middle of a squall, cravings affect both partners in a marriage. Between the heightened sense of smell and sudden picky eating habits that include disgust for foods that used to be adored, cravings can be unpredictable and sudden. Supposedly, if a women consumes more calories, it is more likely that she will conceive a boy. Likewise, if the cravings are for more salty heavy foods it can also indicate a boy. However, if the cravings are for chocolate, sweets and candy, it is supposedly and indicator for a girl. Of course this is largely dismissed by the scientific community, but Mother Goose couldn’t have been completely wrong: “Snakes and snails and puppy dog tails, that’s what little boys are made of. Sugar, spice and everything nice, that’s what little girls are made of.â€
Like Mare’s Tails (cloud patterns) for sailors, how a woman carries the baby is one of the most popular gender predictor test options for guessing whether it is a boy or girl. If you’re low and out front, it’s a boy, but if it’s high and you can tell you’re pregnant from the back, it’s a girl. Similarly, the baby’s heartbeat is also supposed to be an indicator of whether it is a boy or girl. It the heart beat is under 140 beats per minute, then it’s a boy, but if it is above that, then it is much more likely you’re having a girl. Be prepared for your health practitioner to humor you when you ask about the heart rate and joke about whether it is a boy or girl with your spouse. Still, it’s fun.
Morning sickness, like cravings, is the other big characteristic of pregnancy. Some women do not experience it and to those lucky few, congratulations, but for the rest of us, it can be a miserable experience. However, if the nausea hits early, during the first twelve weeks, then it’s a girl whereas if it hits later than that, it’s more likely to be a boy. Some also have found that with boys it will be more likely for the sickness to hit in the morning, while it may not start until the evening with girls. To make the morning sickness even more pleasant, if the baby is really active, then the baby gender predictor says it’s most likely a boy where a calmer baby can indicate a girl. Whether you are planning on finding out the sex of your baby before or during delivery, these baby gender predictor test options can be a lot of fun for guessing whether it’s a boy or girl until the big day arrives.
