How To Choose A Tent For 1 Person

Camping is a great affordable option for families or groups of friends; however, sometimes even when you are camping with your friends you might want your own tent.  You can find many cheap tents that are great for 1 person.  It all just depends on what type of small tent you want and if you want it to be a 1 man or 2 man tent.

Regardless of what size tent you are going to use you need to take into consideration how easy it is to set up and how heavy it is.  If you are camping by yourself are you going to be able to carry it into wherever you need to put it and are you going to be able to set it up by yourself?  Most tents are pretty simple to set up so this shouldn’t be a very big problem for you.  But it is definitely something you need to consider.

The advantage to having your own tent when camping with other people is that you will have a lot more room for your stuff and air mattress if you wish.  You might even want a size bigger if you want some more sleeping room.  Don’t be surprised if other people in the group want to use some of your space to0, especially if they are sleeping in the same tent with other campers.

If your group is doing some mountain biking on the camping trip, you have the option of getting a bike tent which are smaller and uses the front wheel to hold up the tent.  The only problem with this type of tent is in order to use your bike; you have to take the tent back down to get to the wheel.
However, you can also opt for bivy tents or sacks.  These are very small tents slightly larger than a sleeping back so they definitely aren’t for people who like cramped spaces.
