Bullet cameras are small and are limited to a fixed focal length lens, which is why it has got the name. Sometimes, they are also remarked as lipstick cameras. Whatever it is called, a bullet camera is a type of a security camera that looks like the bullet that you put into the barrel of a shot-gun. They are 2 to 4 inches long.
These cameras are great for small spaces but the images that it captures may have slightly cut-off corners because of the shape and design of the camera. The actions of the camera lens can be interfered by the shape of the camera. They are gaining popularity with every passing day because they can work both indoors and outdoors. The best part of these cameras is that they are extremely flexible. They can adapt very well to the changs in the surroundings. For instance, they can see in colour during the day and in low conditions. Similarly, when there is no light, they offer infrared black and white video. They are also capable of adjusting the length and width of the video.
The bullet cameras are well known for its resistability against the harshest weather conditions. They can operate very well in both cold and hot environment. SInce, these cameras run hot naturally from the amount of voltage running in the camera’s internal circuits, there is no need to worry about the camera freezing over. Every bullet cam has an IP rating that indicates what kind of water and wind abuse it can take. Although, they arent made to work under water, most of them can take large amount of rain and wind. So, they will work well regardless where you are located in the world.
As mentioned previously, many bullet cameras are equipped with the ability to record video in colour during the day, and black and white in the dark. When the lightening conditions worsen, the internal sensor of the camera switches on the infrared lights built around the bullet camera’s lens. These infrared LED lights are very powerful and they change the video to render black and white high resolution video feeds. When the lightening conditions improve and there is more natural light, the cameras;s internal sensor turns off the infrared light and the video will be rendered in colour. This feature isnt available in many other cameras, hence putting bullet cams a step ahead of them all.
