Bridal Tiaras- SHOULD YOU RENT OR OWN

Wearing a bridal tiara on her wedding day would, in all likelihood, make a bride feel like a princess for the day. If a bride chooses to wear a tiara, two things need to be considered. Should you rent or own.

A bride needs to consider who she is, her likes and dislikes, feelings about tradition and heritage, budget, how her hair will be styled, face shape, and height.

There are many bridal tiara designs and sizes which will flatter a bride who‘s hairstyle is short or upswept or who is short or tall. The prices and styles run the gamut from the very budget-minded to one who isn‘t, to tiaras which will make her look taller or frame her face well. A tiara can be purchased at bridal shops or shops which sell tiaras and hairpieces exclusively.

Is the bride a traditionalist, of a particular heritage (in some countries a tiara is a sign of innocence, and father‘s will place on the bride), or does the bride wish to have an heirloom she can pass down to her daughter or another when they marry? If it is part of a bride’s heritage or bloodline to wear a tiara, then of course she would buy it. If the bride likes heirlooms, wants to show her individuality, or use the tiara to hold her veil in place, then buying the tiara would be a good choice.

Renting a tiara is another option, particularly for the bride who is on a budget, does not want to keep the tiara for later use, or who is not a traditionalist. The cost of renting is low, there are more options, they can be rented from a costume shop, from shops who rent tiaras which have been worn by movie stars and some shops rent replicated tiaras of tiaras which were used in days gone-by. Another advantage is, if you decide you do not like the tiara, you can return it and rent another one. However, renting comes with a responsibility to make sure the tiara is not lost or damaged and of course it will need to be returned.

Buying or renting bridal tiaras would be a bride’s personal choice, which is governed by her feelings about tradition and heritage and of course how a tiara will look to her when it is placed on her head.
