Taller than usual stools for in the home bars are larger and fill the area leaving less space where it is used. Measure the spaces if you are thinking of purchasing a stool with rests for the arm or the backs of those sitting on them. If comfort is what you seek than you have it with this type of stool but measure the space and height of the counters at the bars. Their appeal might not be as much since they appear to be every day chairs by looks but those that are can be decorated to fit the space or the room.

Ask the salesperson if they can be bought without a back as well. You might like them better for storage. Just place one on top of the other and you have more space. Some are even lower and fit directly under the counter.

If being to heavy is an issue then be wary of the tall bar stool. They come in wood that is heavy because of the height. Many of the counter stool have seats that come with padding which makes it great to sit on. Take care with chair that can be swiveled. The children play with them while sitting. They use it to turn and get dizzy after a while and can be thrown to the ground and get hurt.
